When should I see a Physiotherapist?
If have suffered a significant sporting or workplace injury, experience discomfort during daily routines such as typing at work or household chores or if you exhibit any of the following symptoms regularly, you should consider seeing one of our Physio’s in our Noosa rooms.
It is also common for doctors to make referrals to a physiotherapist if you require rehabilitation.
Will I need a referral from my GP?
In Australia, Physiotherapists are first contact practitioners, so a referral is usually not required to attend for treatment. There are however a few exceptions including:
- Workers Compenstion Claims
- Motor Vehicles Third Party Claims (CTP)
- Medicare Claims
If any of the above apply to you, you will need to see your GP prior to attending physiotherapy, in order to get a referral.
If you do not have a GP please feel free to contact our clinics for a list of local GPs.
The sooner you consult a Physiotherapist about your injury or pain, the sooner it will resolve.
